Residents and guests attend special Royal Wedding Celebration at All Seniors Care Living Centres across Canada
From Edmonton to Gatineau All Seniors Care retirement Residences hosted special Royal Wedding Tea Parties celebrating this joyous occasion. TV’s and 10 foot screens were set up, tea and dainties were prepared and our dining rooms were full of excitement as the event began.
The ladies looked stunning in their finest dresses and a beautiful assortment of hats; the men too were dapper in their “Sunday” best, making for a wonderful celebration.
Each residence put their own special touch on the day with many vintage wedding dresses on display. At College Park in Regina all guests enjoyed a six course wedding feast, in Aylmer at Chateau Symmes they made their own hats, at Seine River in Winnipeg the main hallway was transformed into an amazing display of Royal Weddings.
As one resident proclaimed “We have grown up with Queen Elizabeth and are thrilled to enjoy this special day.” The Royal couple has asked that charitable donations be given in lieu of wedding gifts, so the entire All Seniors Care family has spent the past week encouraging our communities to come together and donate to local food banks. As David Northcott, Executive Director for Winnipeg Harvest put it, “Feeding the hungry is as important in April as it is at Christmas.” The donations are still being received; the total is expected to be extremely impressive and will be announced next week. Peak of The Market and Canada Safeway have announced their support and they will match all food donations received.
